Dear Mr. Kukushin, Your long explanation and description about your journey has arrived via different ways onto my desk. You are completely right that some things that have happened were not completely as they should have been. Let me remind you that the structure of the Organisation is such that every member has its own responsibilities as they are all different companies. In fact, it is the company TOKS who is responsible for your remarks and should deal with you as such. In the meanwhile, notice has been taken of your extensive remarks and this will be discussed internally. Any further discussion or complaint should be sent directly to TOKS who will deal with it.
   With kind regards
   Jan Velleman
   Secretary General

   Dear Mr. Velleman,

I received your very short comments via e-mail. Absolutely no doubts, in
due time TOKS will answer for "some things that have happened" and which
"were not completely as they should have been". Mr. Velleman, you have
found a nice way indeed to express your attitude to the situation where 26
people for one hour have been made hostages of irresponsibility and
incompetence of the drivers and further completely neglected by the
administartion of Eurolines member. I begin to feel the team spirit of
   Eurolines.

Still, I insist, Mr. Velleman, on getting Eurolines official reply by a
registered letter to my Riga address by the end of the first decade of
August. It is a matter of politeness, which Eurolines should honour, if you
do not mind. Should the letter from Eurolins contain refusal to cooperate
and answer the questions I had raised in my registered letter to Mrs.
Wagenaar, I then will feel free to further approach appropriate EC
structures for co-operation in this matter.

   Best regards
   Igor Kukushkin

Dear Mr. Kukushkin, I understand you want a written letter, but unfortunately I am not authorised nor in the position of writing such letter. As I already explained, it is TOKS who operates the line and who assumes full responsibility. The requested letter should be sent by them. I repeat, internally the matter is subject of discussion and as such I consider it as closed for the outside world.
   With kind regards
   Jan Velleman
   Secretary General

   Dear Mr. Velleman,

In my letter of complaint to Eurolines sub-committee I raised important
questions of safety provided by Lithuanian member of Eurolines - TOKS and
whether the quality of TOKS service in that particular trip was up to
Eurolines standards. As I explained in my letter, TOKS administration
believes that it is, so there is no use to turn to them once again, it
   should be clear.

I wanted to hear Eurolines opinion on the subject, but Eurolines denies it
to me. So, I want to receive the letter of denial and I will be expecting
it by August 10, Mr. Velleman. I hope such letter requires no particular
authorisation. Respect is due, Mr. Velleman. Mr. Indrashius may not know
it, but I would have thought, Eurolines general secretary may.

If Eurolines would have been frank enough to admit it to me in the letter I
asked from it, that TOKS had failed Eurolines standards, then I would have
no doubts about the standards of Eurolines in general and informed the
public accordingly. I respect the rules of fair game and common sense, Mr.
Velleman, as I have an altogether different business experience and
approach from Mr. Indrashius'. And armed with the facts I might have dealt
with TOKS in the court quite soon, which is very important to me, as my
health is concerned. Then the matter might have been closed to the outside
world. Now, that Eurolines has chosen "to protect" (it is a disservice to
the organisation, actually) its faulty member and withhold information from
me and the public, which has the right to know, as its safety is concerned,
I will do my best to keep the matter open, of course. This is simple.

I am expecting the letter, Mr. Velleman.

   Best regards
   Igor Kukushkin
